Mage and Apothecary Extraordinaire

Winterwind 16th

Someone requested a potion to give them the power of mimicry. This is the perfect thing. The pig's liver was tough to come by, so I charged the fellow a pretty penny. He didn't seem to mind, and it was amusing to hear him speaking like his mother-in-law. I can only wonder what he's planning.

"Parronimus Potion (Changes the user's voice to match that of another)
2/3 cup liquidated pig's liver
23 brottle berries, mashed
1 tsp Poisoned worm juice
1/2 cup crushed brottle leaves
2 cup water, hot
Lock of hair from voice owner
Spell words: Cast in feign, Cast again, Cast in feign, Parroniumus

Mix in liver, berries, juice and leaves to water.
Stir until mixture appears blue and has no lumps
Bring slowly to a boil.
Speak spell words and drop in lock of hair
Potion should appear purple with slight shimmer
Potion will be ready for drinking once cooled
Must be taken within a week of completion or could alter user's voice permanently."

** See Endevian Elixir to change appearance. These two potions can be used together but beware if the user has a history of drunkenness. I wonder why? The old books don't give much explanation!

Winterwind 18th

A snow storm is coming. I can tell it without trying, something I've learned over the years.  I'm not looking forward to it, especially since I've no one to keep me company. Oh well, at least I have Bean. Hopefully she won't make the mistake of burning half the parlor down again.

Winterwind 23rd

Bloody bored. The snow is keeping everyone indoors. I haven't seen a single customer, not even some chap looking for a spirit to keep warm. For my part I'm going stir crazy! I'm going to close up shop and brave the storm to get to the tavern. The Yellow Fox is the only place in this town with decent cider, and maybe I'll hear something interesting.

Bean has taken an unusual interest in the brottle bush. I hope she doesn't decide to eat it.

Winterwind 24th

Bean ate the bush, berries and all. Bloody dragon.

Winterwind 25th

Storm is gone at last! Sold two bottles of a Cold Tonic. I convinced  the woman to buy a love potion as well. She doesn't likely need it, pretty as she is. Time to do some reading.

Found an interesting looking spell for foresight in a scroll from the trunk I bought last week. The same scroll mentions a  book of spells, translates roughly to 'Book of Blood' but the lettering is much older than anything I've seen before. It's some kind of elf speak but I must ask Rodani, a bloke I know in Cheston. I wish I remembered the name of the man who sold me these scrolls. I should start writing everything down!

Here's a start. Bean has been sneezing blue flames ever since the bush. Serves the ruddy lizard right!

Winterwind 26th

Anxious today. I feel like someone is watching me. Bean senses it too.  I think I'll lock up early tonight. The air feels strange and dangerous.
Tybus, the half elven mage, has always kept journals. Here we get a peek into a current one of his. I wonder why he stopped writing on the 26th?

As everyone else said, loved Bean eating the bush. Sounds like my imaginary Donkey companion.
