Sybil spent most of the night trying to decipher the scratched out letters on the map. She tried rubbing off the ink, looking at the map held in front of a lantern, and various other things, but nothing would reveal the ruined writing or give a hint of what it said. When she finally gave up and fell into her bunk to sleep, it was only an hour or two before dawn.

It wouldn't have done for anyone to take notice of just who Greenbe was; no doubt more than one pirate was out hunting him, and the last thing they needed was a fight with a rival. Finally, they'd made it back on board, and Sybil ordered their prisoner to be put in the brig. "Let's throw a blanket in with him," she said as she lead the way, "It's a bit chilly down here and he won't be any use if he gets sick."
